FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!
What is a “young professional?”
YPs are generally considered working adults between the ages of 21-40, but also include “young thinkers” of any age over 21.
What type of job do I have to have to be included?
YPs come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, backgrounds, industries, and educational experience. Accountants, artists, bankers, rockstars, engineers, non-profit workers, graduate students, small business owners, and everyone in between is welcome in Ignite.
Is this another networking, dating, or social club?
Absolutely not. Ignite will offer networking, fun, and social opportunities with other YPs, but that is not our focus. This will be an organization designed to engage, empower, and inspire our local YPs. Our goal is to make a significant difference in the development of our members and a positive impact in our community. At our events, YPs will have opportunities to meet other YPs and community leaders with the focus on building connections and relationships, not sales.
Do I have to be a Roseville Chamber of Commerce member to join Ignite?
Absolutely not! Membership in Ignite is separate from Roseville Chamber of Commerce membership. Ignite is a program of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce and wants to support the growth and development of our area’s young talented workforce, but Chamber membership is NOT required.
How much is membership in Ignite and how long will it last?
Membership details can be viewed on the Membership page.
How did Ignite get started?
The need for this program was discovered and acted upon by the City of Roseville Economic Development Department and the staff of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce. Soon after, a 13-member Creative Council was formed and helped identify the needs of YPs through focus groups and an online poll. The Creative Council acts as a formation team and represents the voice of YPs in the Roseville area.
Do I have to live in Roseville to join Ignite?
No. Ignite is a regionally focused group and accepts members from all surrounding communities in the Sacramento region. Whether you live in Roseville, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Lincoln, Citrus Heights, Sacramento, or any other community in the area, you are welcome Ignite.
How often will Ignite meet?
Ignite will offer monthly events to its members. As the group develops, there may be several opportunities available each month. Want to get involved and make a difference? Email the Chair of an Action Team to see what opportunities are available.
