Volunteer
We’re looking for (quite) a few good men and women to volunteer on the day of the 5K. We’ll need folks out on the course, directing both traffic and our participants. We’re also looking for help during registration and check-in, as well as tear-down after the run. If you’re thinking of actually running (or walking), but have a friend or spouse who isn’t, why not suggest a volunteer position! If you’re interested, please contact Kimberley Navarro at knavarro@williamspluspaddon.com.

Sponsorships
Support breast cancer research by becoming a sponsor of the HOT Pink 5K. All proceeds benefit the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment, a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization (tax ID 27-0690037). For more information about sponsorship opportunities, contact sponsorship chair Dean Stephens at 916.216.2323 or carriendean@gmail.com or download the Hot Pink 5K Sponsorship Packet. You can fax the sponsorship form to 916.783.5261

In Honor/Memory
If a friend or loved one has been affected by breast cancer, we invite you to participate in the HOT Pink 5K in their honor or memory. Write the name of the person you will be walking in honor or memory of on a special bib available to all participants on the morning of the race. There will also be a “Wall of Honor” at the race where participants can write a message or post photos of loved ones affected by all types of cancer.

Pre-Party & Race Packet/T-shirt Pickup
Stay tuned for more information about a pre-party on Friday, October 8 (the night before the event), where you can meet the other participants and pick up your race packet, bib, timing chip, t-shirt and goodie bag.

About the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment
The Placer Breast Cancer Endowment, formed in July 2005, includes breast cancer survivors and community activists committed to fully funding the Breast Cancer Endowed Chair at the UC Davis Cancer Center. The members have pledged to raise $1.5 million during a five-year campaign. The endowed chair will allow UC Davis to recruit established researchers, build laboratory space, and continue clinical trials programs offering patients access to the latest treatments with the ultimate goal, as set by the National Cancer Institute Director John E. Niederhuber, M.D. - to eliminate the suffering and death due to cancer by 2015.

The group was also formed to raise awareness about breast health issues including early detection and resource availability in the South Placer area. “The Placer Breast Cancer Endowment Fund is a 501-C-3 nonprofit organization, and contributions to the fund are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law”.
